For unspoilt African wilderness Botswana is an excellent choice; with the contrasting semi-arid sandscape of the Kalahari and the spectacular waterways of the Okavango Delta, which form an intricate network of channels, eventually seeping away into the sand.

The Okavango Delta is a romantic paradise for an African wildlife safari. You may explore the large sand islands on a game drive, experience the excitement and discover the smaller details on a walking safari, glide peacefully along the waterways in a ‘mokoro’, a traditional dug-out canoe, or simply sit and relax at a luxury safari lodge waiting to see what comes down to the water to drink. Chobe National Park offers great wildlife viewing and is renowned for its large elephant populations. We recommend a boat cruise along the Chobe River, which draws many of the animals down to its waters, especially during the drier months.

Another highlight is the Makgadikgadi and Nxai Pans National Park, a huge salt-pan complex where the adventurous may drive into the endless mirages, or search for the migrating herds of wildebeest and zebra.
