Responsible travel

The owners of Pumulani have a long-term commitment to supporting the local communities.  They have a policy of providing training and employing staff from the local community.  Pumulani is a young lodge, but to date the following work has been done to beneift the community:

  • Built a new school block, consisting of 2 classrooms.
  • Provided vegetable and maize seeds, fertiliser and insecticides to a local organisation supporting people living with HIV/AIDS.
  • Repaired water pumps in nearby villages.
  • Produced a book and provided education for local schools about the importance of conserving endemic fish species.
