Etosha National Park

Etosha National Park

It is Etosha’s scenery that really differentiates it from other parks in southern Africa. Wonder at the vast Etosha saltpan stretching off to the horizon and processions of gemsbok, zebra and wildebeest filing their way out of the distant mirages.

Etosha National Park protects a wide diversity of wildlife, with good numbers of black rhino, elephant and predators, including lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena.

Etosha has three public restcamps, spread at even distances between the two main park gates; Okaukuejo, Halali, and Namutoni.  The floodlit waterholes at these camps can offer some great game viewing at night and its worth spending some time at the end of the day quietly waiting to see what comes down to drink.  The camps and good standard of roads makes for a very convenient self-drive safari to the park, as part of your tailor-made Namibia itinerary.  Alternatively stay at one of the more luxury lodges in an area of the park not open to the public and discover the wildlife with a knowledgebale guide.
