NaturallyAfrica aims to ensure that our actions are responsible and sustainable. We work with conservation and environmental charities and organisations to minimise our impact on the natural environment and to support community and wildlife projects in the areas that we travel to.

Friends of Conservation (FOC)

NaturallyAfrica and FOC are working together to select suitable projects around the world that help reduce the amount of carbon in the atmosphere. These forestry and fuel efficiency projects not only help in the fight against global warming, but also local communities and biodiversity. You can donate to these projects to reduce the environmental impact of your flight.

FOC is a registered charity established in 1982 and works in all parts of the world to support effective community based conservation projects. In the struggle to save endangered species and habitats, FOC is committed to work with local peoples and partners to support sustainable ways of living in harmony with wildlife, ecosystems and the environment.

FOC provides support for:

• wildlife monitoring, protection & research
• anti-poaching campaigns
• the provision of veterinary supplies and equipment
• support for environment education among communities in developing countries
• projects that alleviate poverty in developing countries
• forestry and fuel efficiency schemes that help to reduce climate change ('carbon sequestration')
• projects that reduce the impact of tourism on fragile habitats.

Footballs For Fun - Keep Africa Alive and Kicking

With your support and the support of the travel industry Footballs For Fun will bring joy and hope to children in Africa.

South Africa is set to host the FIFA World Cup in 2010, which will see the world’s top teams, playing Africa’s most popular sport on African soil. Many young children dream of playing for their country and you will often see them practicing their skills with balls made from basketweave, plastic bags, or similar materials.

Many visitors to Africa also want to give a free gift during their travels and a football is the perfect one. This is the idea behind Footballs For Fun. The footballs that they supply are in the national colours of the country that you are travelling to and come shrink wrapped and packed fairly flat with a pump and valve, so they take up about the space of a shoe.

For every football purchased Footballs For Fun will also donate £1 to charities, which primarily support children, working with AIDS, malaria and polio victims and helping to eradicate these diseases. They also support Just A Drop, the clean water campaign.
