Naturally Africa aims to ensure that our actions are responsible and sustainable. Our accommodation options are selected and itineraries carefully designed for you in keeping with this objective. Further information about the responsible travel aspects of each are contained in the individual travel pages.

As part of this commitment we have established the Naturally Africa Foundation, through which we support community projects and wildlife conservation initiatives in the countries that you may travel to with us. Some examples of the projects that we support are described in these pages. If you would like further information about the projects that the Naturally Africa Foundation is supporting, or to find out more about how you may contribute please do not hesitate to contact us. In addition we encourage you to do your bit in ensuring that your actions are responsible during your trip and have provided advice here about how you may do so.

The Naturally Africa Foundation

The objectives of The Naturally Africa Foundation and the projects in Africa that we support are poverty relief and sustainable development, which there are direct connections between. The United Nations definition of sustainable development is, "development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."

Tourism for many countries is an important driver of development, providing significant economic income and employment. We are in the fortunate position of being able to take a holiday to other countries and experience different cultures. We believe that in so doing we have an inherent responsibility to ensure that the impact of our travel is minimal and ideally contributes positively towards our objectives.

The Naturally Africa Foundation's aims, defined as charitable activities under the Charities Act 2006 are:

"The relief of poverty in Africa by providing or assisting in the provision of education, training, healthcare projects and all the necessary support designed to enable individuals to generate sustainable income and be self-sufficient."

and

"To promote sustainable development through the preservation, conservation and the protection of the environment and the prudent use of resources."
