The south of the park is the most accessible and has the greatest density of wildlife, but if you have the time it is well worth driving to some of the northern camps to enjoy the best of Kruger, its changing scenery and fewer vehicles.
Walking trails with armed guides are also available; for either a couple of hours, or longer two to three day excursions, taking you to some of the more remote areas of the park.
If you are looking for a little luxury there is a selection of excellent lodges to choose from in the private reserves bordering Kruger to the west. These offer guided safaris that will provide great game viewing without all of the other tourists driving around in their own vehicles and an insight into the wildlife that you see.
