Tongabezi Lodge, Victoria Falls

Day 1 - Tongabezi Lodge 
On arrival at Livingstone International Airport you will be met and transferred to Tongabezi on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. Depending on your arrival time you will be provided with lunch or afternoon tea and you may have the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon activity before returning for a delicious dinner.

Day 2 - Sindabezi Island
You will be transferred by boat to the nearby Sindabezi Island today. You may choose how you will spend your day; you may visit the magnificent Victoria Falls, take a morning boat cruise along the shores of the Zambezi National Park or if you are feeling more adventurous ask the team to assist you in arranging a white water rafting trip, a swim in the Devil’s Pools (both seasonal activities), or one of the many other adrenaline activties on offer at the Falls.

Day 3 - Sindabezi Island
With so many activities on offer, today you could go canoeing, visit the nearby local village, fish, have lunch on a private island or participate in a game drive in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park. Don't forget to allow some time to just sit and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this beautiful location.

Day 4 and 5 - Kapani Lodge
You will board your flight from Livingstone to Mfuwe for the start of your safari in South Luangwa National Park and be transferred to Kapani Lodge. The area close to Kapani and along the river is game-rich and drives here make an exciting introduction to South Luangwa.  An early start gives you plenty of time to explore and catch up on the the night's activities. The morning drive returns to the lodge for more food and some time to relax before the evening safari, during which you will have the chance to view some of the nocturnal inhabitants of the bush.

Day 6 and 7 - Luwi / Nsolo Bush Camp
Today you will leave Kapani and transfer to the first of your remote bush camp lodges, set within the South Luangwa National Park itself and from where you will experience your first real walking safari. Game viewing activities from Luwi and Nsolo bush camps are mostly on foot, although game drives and night drives are always an option.

Day 8 and 9 - Kakuli / Mchenja Bush Camp
Time for a change of scenery and on the morning of Day 8 you will make your way on foot or by game drive, or a combination of the two to your second bush camp, arriving in time for brunch. You will have two full days here experiencing a new area and its resident wildlife. Kakuli or Mchenja offer both walking and driving safaris.

Enjoy one final drive along the Luangwa River en route from your bush camp to Mfuwe Airport. From here your flight will take you via Lilongwe to Likoma Island in the twinkling clear waters of Lake Malawi. Kaya Mawa, meaning “maybe tomorrow”, is situated at the southern tip of the island surrounded by mango trees and ancient baobabs. The rooms are dotted around a rocky outcrop or on the beach; each with its own deck, spectacular views and direct access to the lake, or small plunge pool.

You have two full days to enjoy the splendour of this luxurious and peaceful beach lodge. There is a range of activities to be experienced during your stay here both on and under the water. Lake Malawi is the third largest in Africa and home to a wide variety of fish species and other aquatic life - the clear waters around Likoma Island are excellent for snorkelling and diving. You can also explore the island itself on foot, by bicycle or on quad bikes. Alternatively, just relax, gazing out over the 'Lake of Stars'.

Day 13 - Departure
After a memorable holiday your flight from Likoma Island will take you back to Lilongwe to connect with your onward flight, which is where this 12 night itinerary ends.
