Ngorongoro Crater

Part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and one of the largest volcanic caldera in the world, Ngorongoro Crater is a magnet for people travelling to Africa for a wildlife safari. This is with good reason, as the high concentrations of wildlife and diverse habitats provide exceptional game viewing.

Flamingos and hippos inhabit the lakes and waterholes, elephants with huge tusks can be found in the shady woodlands, hyenas and lions can be spotted crossing the wide open grass plains and buffalo feed around the marshes.

It is also worth taking the time to explore some other areas of the conservation area away from the popular crater to fully appreciate what Ngorongoro has to offer.
